The Basics of Playing Craps

Craps, also known as Bank Craps is a dice game and it is one of the most popular and thrilling casino games. The most interesting thing is, you can always find that the Craps table is the noisiest place inside a casino. There is shouting and yelling all around it. This game is played on a specially built table and uses 2 dice.

Rules of Craps

In order to play casino game of craps, one player, called the shooter bets the table minimum on the Pass Line or the Don’t Pass Line. The rules of the game are as following:

  • The Stickman presents multiple dice to the shooter and has to select 2 to roll with.
  • The dice is handled by the shooter using just one hand while throwing.
  • The dice is required to hit the opposite walls on the table.
  • If the dice falls off the table, it is to be inspected before being put back.
  • There are maximum of 20 plays on a Craps table.
  • Every player is allowed to shoot the dice.
  • Players can also choose not to shoot and just bet on other shooters.
  • Different bet types can be made on the basis of the table action.

Round

The rounds for throwing the dice keep rotating clockwise. There are 2 phases in a round:

  • Come Out

1 or more Come out Rolls are made by the shooter in order to begin a round. When there is a Come Out roll of 7 or 11, the players with bet on Pass Line win.

  • Point

The Shooter will continue making Come Out rolls till the rolls consist of 4 to 10, leaving 7 that turn into the Point. Then the dealer is then going to move ON Button towards the Point number to signify the second phase. The bets with the Pass Line win when the Point number is rolled by the shooter.

Craps Table Layout

The dice is to be rolled across the layout of the Craps table. There are 3 areas on the table. This consists of 2 side areas divided by an area in the center. Both the side areas are the reflection of each other and have these bets:

  • Pass Line
  • Don’t Pass Line
  • Don’t Come
  • Come
  • Place
  • Odds
  • Field
